How To
-Photostory: This is a video making program that is easy to use. This could be a good way for students to present a project instead of using a poster or powerpoint.
-Podcasting: This is a program that is basically audio. The teacher or student can record information and share it over the internet. Also, this is a good way for students to share information with group members or to do a written assignment.
-Polleverywhere/ Instant messaging: This a good way to collect information from students and evaluate their knowledge. Who cares if they use their phones during class? Make it fun!
-Mobile Phone Cameras: This could be used for students to take a picture of a certain situation or a certain moment captured. Then, it could become a creative writing project for students.
There are many different ways to incorporate what students know and for teachers to get help for technology they are not familiar with. They just need to take the time to sit down and do something fun for students!

Educational Podcasts
"Building Confidence in Young Athletes" (Elem) is one that I believe is useful because it is very important for all children to be active. This podcast tells how to encourage all children to become active in something. As a PE major, I am made aware of how important it is to really help children realize they need to be physically active for a lifetime. Also, this podcast talks about how to improve children on their skills.
"Middle School Matters" (Middle) is a podcase that I believe is useful for teachers teaching middle school students. There are many chapters under this certain podcast. All in all, the podcast talks about how to deal with students at this age and how to help them get through their hormonal times. I think it is very important for students to understand what middle school students are going through. Also, other topics covered by this podcast are certain games and ideas that are creative and fun for middle school students.
"Financial Aid Podcast" (High School) is something I think all high school students need to be aware of. There are many scholarships and loans that are affordable for all students. I believe many students don't go to college because they don't think they can afford it. I know personally, there are many scholarships out there for just about anything. I think it is a serious topic that should be discussed with all high school students so they are motivated for higher education!
I hope you get a chance to listen to these podcasts if you are interested in any of these topics!

"The Bedlington is also know for the way they lay down. They circle around once before lying down. This is a sign of something they did years ago. They circles to make sure the place was safe for them to lay."

Pros and Cons of Blogging in Education
I believe blogging in education is a wonderful idea! I believe it is a great way for students to interact with each other as well as with the teacher. I also think that with as much technology that is incorporated into our everyday lives' students need as much experience as they can get. I really think that because of such easy access to the internet for all students, it is more likely that they will become more engaged with doing their "own thing." I think blogging can be fun for students because they can design their own website; it could act as a journal for them so they can be creative in what they write. Also, interacting with other students online is a great tool. They can do their own work, however, make suggestions for other students using the comment box. Keeping a classroom blog is also a neat idea for students and parents to be able to keep up with what is going on in the classroom. It could serve as a schedule for upcoming events or field trips as well as a schedule for when assignments are due. I think the only con about using a blog is that some students may not be able to access the internet from home, so it would take up class time. However, I believe overall it is a useful tool for all teachers and students!
